People have been using bricks for construction since time immemorial and over the past millennia have improved it. Silicatical brick and decorative brick were also created, which allows you to use this material for both construction and decoration.
In order for a brick house to stand for more than a dozen, or even a hundred years, you must first choose the right material, and during construction you need to comply with the requirements and rules.
How to choose a brick for construction?
Let’s start with the rules for choosing a brick. First of all, decide at what stage of construction it will be used. For the foundation, feel free to purchase a natural red brick of burned clay, then you will get a strong and durable base for the house, since this material withstands a pressure of 300 kg/cm2. When buying a brick, note that it is not burnt – a black core or a deaf sound when tapping will tell you about this defect. High -quality brick sounds clean and loudly. Also, red brick can be used to build fireplaces, chimneys, furnaces and pipes, since only he is not afraid of high temperatures.
Walls and partitions are best made from white silicate brick. Its base is soft, which makes it not as durable as natural. It will not work for the foundation, because it will not withstand the weight of the house.
For external finishing, feel free to use decorative, it is front or facade, brick. It has an ideal shape and glossy shine, which will make the facade especially beautiful and will not require additional finishes. It can also be used for wall decoration inside the building. When laying facial bricks, it is necessary to ensure that the seams between the bricks are perfect.
Remember the GOST
Any brick construction should be carried out according to GOST. Firstly, because the commission that will accept the structure can reject it if all the necessary state standards are not observed. Secondly, these same GOSTs take into account very important factors that provide primarily the convenience and safety of residents. So, for example, the walls of a brick house should be at least 600 mm thick. If this indicator is smaller, then you will have to insulate the walls on both sides, and not from one. This is due to the fact that the brick heats up quickly and cools down just as quickly, which can lead to not very good consequences if insulation is not used. Of course, you can do without them, but in this case you have to make walls 2 meters thick.
How much does a brick house cost?
The cost of a brick house is determined by many factors. The lower limit is about $ 400 per square meter. The maximum is not limited and depends not only on the area, but also on the layout, finishes, etc. D. At the same time, large organizations engaged in the construction of brick cottages often make discounts when building houses in several floors and wide additional buildings.
Having decided to build a brick house, you can choose both a typical project and order an individual, taking into account your wishes. Since such buildings are durable, your grandchildren and even great -grandchildren can use the cottage built by you. In addition, the brick is not afraid of fire and frosts, which makes it very attractive materials, especially in those places where severe winters or a very hot summer.
