Drywall.
Each suburban house needs finishing coatings. Unless in a wooden log house, they are not required, the log house is good for its natural beauty. The most popular material for the decoration of drywall, and it is successfully used as in the finishing work of city apartments and in the country. A drywall sheet is a gypsum core trimmed on both sides with thin cardboard. Thanks to the simplicity and suppleness of the material, even a newcomer can work with it. Since its basis is paper, you can guess that it is absolutely environmentally friendly. The disadvantage can be considered low moisture resistance and strength. Even the most reliable types of drywall are not advised to use in wet houses, and if the sheet undergoes mechanical damage, it will have to be replaced. Also drywall is not suitable for aligning the floor, since it will not withstand weight. For this, it is perhaps better than gypsum fiber, it has a higher mechanical strength. Material gypsum fiber is already pressed paper and gypsum.
Wood -based materials.
Various finishing panels appeared in today’s Russian market, and they firmly occupied their niche. Such panels are universal, they are suitable for different rooms, this is a kitchen, a corridor, a living room, and a dining room. The most inexpensive option is chipboard. It is clear that the panels appear on the market only after passing the lamination process. This coating effectively simulates wood, granite or brick – the material that is better for your interior. DSP panels are convenient to work and have a low price. It is worth knowing that chipboard over time can distinguish formaldehydes and begin to crumble. In addition, the panels from chipboard do not behave well with temperature changes and humidity.
At the heart of the DVP panels are also the wood, but they have a different manufacturing technology. Formaldehydes are not used in their production, thanks to this, the material is safer. DVP is more resistant to humidity, but is suitable for use even in a bathroom or pool.
Wood panels are also cork materials. These are distinguished by low weight and excellent heat – and sound insulation. So if you are important for the construction, it is better to use this material for wall decoration.
And yet, no matter how good wood materials are, they have the main drawback – this is a high degree of flammability. Also, in their durability, they lose, inferior to plastic panels.
Plastic decoration.
In suburban construction, wide and plastic are used. Since plastic is not natural material, it is worth taking care that it can organically fit into the interior of the construction, because in most cases the plastic sharply dissonates with the appearance of a summer residence and cottage. And yet, for some rooms, specialists strongly recommend using plastic, such as a foamed PVC sheet. Primary, these are rooms as a bathroom, kitchen or pool.
Plastic has 100%moisture resistance, high wear resistance and ease of care. Even in the places of his joints, he is impenetrable for water, but at the same time he passes the air well, and the walls breathe, thanks to this. Because of its structure, plastic panels sound well, the room is sounded, because each panel is a lot of isolated cells. The drawing on the panel is applied using a special print, they are covered with varnish with an antistatic property on top. This coating is both matte and glossy. In terms of characteristics for strength, varnished plastic panels surpass the lacquered wood panel.
Fiberglass panels usually imitate a brick or natural stone. They are used for decoration inside the house, and for external work, too. And at the same time, almost complete similarities are ensured, but at the cost they win. Thanks to chemical inertia, moisture, fungi, various microorganisms and mold do not affect the fiberglass panel.
But on the issue of environmental cleanliness in panels made of plastic, a double situation: they are completely harmless in the usual environment, but when ignited, many harmful substances will inevitably occur.
