National Technical Library and once again about the reading room of the Library of Clementinum
From 1928 to 1930, reconstruction work under the leadership of the architect Ladislav Makhonem to prepare the building under use as a library was held in the reading room of the Klementinum’s reading room.
Since 2009, the National Technical Library moved to a new building made in the high-tech style, the facade of which is made of glass.
Since 2010, restoration work has been underway in the Clementinum, which are held in several stages and are planned for completion in 2016.
Already at the beginning of these works in the corridor of the wing, which is located from Platersch Street, old frescoes were discovered. In general, restoration work will affect everything: both the interior and the facade. I will talk about the main attractions of the Clementinum in the following articles.
